The NVIDIA GTX 400 series of cards finally got released, they claim to have recaptured the crown. But u cant find any to buy;all sold out plus it only amounts to approx a 15 % increase in performance over ATI existing flagship card. Not much of an improvement but now DX 11 compatibility was a must. 
This should also drive ATI cards down in price |

Actually it won't decrease prices for ATI. Demand is still outpacing the manufacture of the chips.
It's hardly an accomplishment when one 480 runs about 1.5x the power of an ATI card and can probably cook an egg. Seriously, the thing runs 37W less (450W for the 480) than the dual-GPU 295 card. While the compute power is impressive, it's really not utilized for games.
The only thing I am happy about with this release is tech news can finally shut up about it. Only thing worse is an Apple release.

| yeh i saw an article a guy was playing crysis for 6 hours comp crashed restarted and his 480 had died it was at 120c |

| I am beginning to suspect the new fermi cards are actually cleverly disguised space heaters. The video output is just an unfortunate accident. No doubt you will see similar designs in walmart's camping gear section soon.... |
