Hey guys, the QW community just seemed to die. In checking the last 2 nights there might be one server in the US w/ anyone playing. Is this b/c the new BF games just came out? Anyone tried this game yet? If I new this was going to happen I would have held off on playing ET for a bit and enjoyed the last couple of hours of QW. Uggg.

It's a good possibility that many jumped ship for it. QW people had a number of former battlefield players. I played last week with McDee and there were only about 9 ranked servers running, and an extra page of unranked servers. It really has petered off.
I got BFBC2 yesterday, and was playing with Coptic. Revolver was in our game too, but on the other side (damn that rev tube). It takes some getting used to but seems good so far. The guns have power and the bullets have some physics to them so aim needs to be adjusted. Unlike quake wars where things were pretty open, there is a lot of foliage and cover to hide in. |

Ouch, have only played one map. Other than that, I have note been able to connect to the servers and the server list takes forever to come up. I updated pb and open every crazy port listed in various forums.
Any ideas?
Cheers,

Yea, the server browser is just plain slow. Make friends and join up with them, it goes much faster that way!
So far Dee, Coptic and myself are playing. |

Well, here is my Bias review of the Beta that I played for 50+ hours. This game is the pinnacle of the Battlefield series. Having played other BF games the learning curve was not steep, for anyone who has played this series of games, BBC2 is BF2142 on major steroids. Throughout the beta I had no issues ever connecting to any servers. Maybe 4 times in the 50 hrs I got thrown out of the game for w/e reason and it froze once. Using the TS3 server while playing enhanced the squad play experience which for me is the the biggest plus of this game. The weapons feel fine some better than others and there are alot of them. As you advance in rank you earn upgrades and wholesale changes to some weapons. The vehicles are really nice no learning curve except for choppers they are challenging to fly but devastating in the right hands. To sum it up the balance of all combat aspects are exceptional. If you have the right system this game is as pretty as it gets, amazing amount of finite detail right down to the uniforms.
I feel this game has the most potential of any current offering. The explosions are 2nd to none, and whole buildings do come down at any given time. I have played this game with RevolverOcelotKGB, Cpt.Whistlepants (They have a server up and running as of this post)McDee, Gen.Moustache(aka.Black_Dingo),DonkeyDong and quite a few other Steam friends. As you can see I love this game, but understand I'm basing all this on the Beta version and I need to mention it could use some tweaking like most console games ported over to PC.
Stalker, everyone is posting the same issues you have, out of the gate the forums are full of these instances. I read that today they are replacing current servers with R4 servers . I also have problems connecting now , I found today that if i picked a server with 4 or less players i could get in, then gradually it starts to fill up. They need to get this fixed fast, and based on their post they are doing just that. |

| Nvidia pulled their latest driver release, due to complaints of bad fan control causing cards to overheat. If you, like I did, installed the latest version for BC2 support keep an eye on your temps, or get like riva tuner to manually increase fan speed before playing. I had a lock up last night, could have been due to that. |

| Agree with coptic +1 bad things are : slow server browser , server browser isn't realtime although it seems to be realtime when looking at your friends list , to add a friend you both have to be at the main menu , disconnects and pb issues besides from that gameplay is awesome sqaud play over ts3 ftw ! |

People still play ETQW.
Its largely dependent on what time you jump online to play. As of late there have been 3-4 full servers on occasion after 2pm, which isn't bad. Although the douchebag factor can be high. Smaller player base means a skewed douchebag to gamer ratio, haha.
Honestly nothing else interests me right now. Although I may check out BC2. Or not. Sounds like its a nice game - if you can get on, lol.
Mostly I am pinning my hopes on Brink....Splash Damage hasn't let me down yet! |

Tried logging in after my last post and was able to connect. Server list still took a while to connect, but it went quick from there. Game play is much different than what I am use to. The slow movements will take a while to get use to as well as the iron scope.
I was playing as a medic and someone cam to me for health and I had no idea what to do, lmao. He just looked at me a run off in discust.
Game feels like it could be fun. Took me a week or so of playing to get into QW as well.

Starting out is a bit rough, especially as a medic. Mostly you just have to focus on kills to get enough XP to get the first three levels. Once you get defibs you'll be raking in the XP like crazy. The other classes start out much more useable, especially the RPG toting engineer. The game dynamic highly favors firing from the iron sight in short bursts.
Teamspeak makes this game a million times more coherent and enjoyable. I do wish they'd work out the friends list issue. It's impossible to add people without catching them in Teamspeak without luck on your side. |

I am enjoying BC2 more everytime I play which has unfortunately not been very much. With all the cover for flanking possibilities and movement, it has fun game play.

| The fragility of cover makes you have to stay on your toes too. Nothing like getting comfy in a house then have a tank take out half the walls on you! It's generally a good game dynamic unless you're getting super.sniper cross-fired upon. I still really haven't learned any of the map names yet, but that one with the freight cars where you start in the desert with the portable housing (surrounded by a fence) is the worst for that.. |
