Experience with dual band routers, no! But have some knowledghe, yes.
There is one common misnomer about the dual band routers, and that is that they all use both bands at the same time, this is not the case. Only some routers will use both bands. Find one that can use both bands at the same time. Then you will need some wireless n adapters to take advantage of the throughput speed of wireless n.
Check to see what the second band in use is, I believe most use wireless g as the secondary signal (however, I could be wrong). And to set up, manufacturers suggest setting you computers up on the higher speed band, and you gaming systems (consoles) Printers and scanners or whatever other addons you have connected via the network wirelessly on the slower one.
I have been looking at new wireless routers for a while, mabey when I get some free money I will invest in newer technology! |

Yeah............I believe this is a dual band router and designed for online gaming, have had it for a while. Can't really say it's better than any other high end router not designated for gaming. This was my first serious router purchase, been very happy with it and it is wireless if you need that capability.

my linksys started dropping packets about 3 months ago, so i looked on craigslist and found a d-link for 10 bucks, new, in the box and all.
works great - very similar setup and i haven't had any issues at all.

| From what I have read the only problem with d-link is that it does not work well with vonage, which is what i use. |
